Drinking Made Easy

Unfortunately the best TV show that has ever been produced about drinking can never seem to find a channel to stay on for any extended amount of time. 3 Sheets is without a doubt the dream job for many people out there with Zane Lamprey traveling the world and drinking. That is his job, to travel and drink. He tries local spirits and drinks as well as hangover cures and customs. Without a doubt the coolest job ever. You do learn quite a bit from watching this show but even better is the fact that it’s usually pretty funny. Zane’s newest show Drinking Made Easy will be on HDNet on Oct 6th. From what I hear it is pretty much the same thing as 3 sheets, but traveling around the US. My DVR is already set.

There are some influential people in cocktail culture that have contributed nothing more than the fact that they enjoy drinking. In all reality, could there be a better legacy? As I went looking through my DVD’s for something to watch I came across some W.C. Fields movies. Fields always carried a flask of pineapple juice (gin) wherever he want and was drunk for a majority of the filming of his movies. He also gave us some of the Best drinking and liquor quotes to date. So today, is the first post solely dedicated to quotes. It could not be a better than to begin with W.C. Fields himself.

Cinco de Mayo

Here it is, another holiday that most of us have no idea what it really is about, yet we know we are all going to get wasted. Well at least you will be, I will be behind the bar working. tonight isn’t going to be a night of tasty handcrafted cocktails. No fresh juice, no flaming zest, basically no effort into drinks. Tonight I will be popping Corona bottles, and serving shots of tequilla, from the minute I walk into the door.

I know there were a few people following this blog for a while and I appreciate that, but I am sorry. Most of the time that I would put a post up would be after work, or even after a night of drinking so there would either be a lack of sleep involved or a little too much beer. Whenever I would go back and read these I would be embarrassed. So from this point on, only clear headed, thoughtful posts that are relevent to the world of drinks, cocktails, and drinking.
